The Hammer & Pincers


The Hammer & Pincers is a large country public house on the outskirts of Sheffield, England. It is situated near Bents Green at a place called Hill Top, although this name is no longer used. It is on Ringinglow Road, set back from the road, which is a road that goes from Sheffield into Derbyshire. The Hammer & Pincers or "The Hammer" as it is affectionatley known, is a large public house that is owned by Bass & Stones Brewries. The standard beers that are always on tap are:

    The Landlord is currently Mick Battersby who has been there since 1994.

    The pub has a very pleasant traditional atmosphere with a good friendly clientele. It has 2 rooms, the lounge and the tap room. The tap room is mainly used by older folk and for playing traditional pub games such as domino's & cribbage. The lounge has a good mixture of age groups using is much larger than the tap room. It has a very large car park and a good sized beer garden and patio with plenty of activities for children.

    The Hammer is an extremely popular pub and serves meals from 12:00 to 2:00 every day and early evening.

  • There is a Jackpot quiz night on Monday.
  • A free quiz on Sunday where there is 8 pints of beer to be won.
  • There are also various other occasions such as Bonfire night, when there is a large bonfire and an excellent firework display.
