XML in Theory and Practice


There are humdreds of books available about XML and its associated technologies. These range from introductory Dummies guides, also published by John Wiley and Sons, through to incredibly comprehensive and complex professional handbooks. Very few of those books are suitable for either students or teachers at undergraduate level. Introductory XML courses will, by their very nature, skim across the top of a wide variety of areas. All of this is covered in my book in a student-friendly manner. I've endeavoured to be both chatty and concise so that readers who have English as a second language are drawn in rather than repelled. I've also tried to be technically accurate — all of the code worked when it was written. You'll find, though, that if you use XML for very long time, system configuration and version control can become a nightmare.
